Hedging & Pruning in Brisbane & Ipswich

Getting light back into the yard and the greenery back off your windows, paths and fence line.

Hedges and shrubs put on a lot of growth in a Brisbane summer. What was a tidy screen in autumn can be over the fence and into the neighbour's yard by February, blocking a window or crowding the path to the front door.

Zac trims hedges back to a straight, even line and cuts overgrown shrubs and small trees back to a sensible shape — clear of rooflines, gutters, windows, fences and walkways. Work is done with the plant's health in mind, cutting back to good growth points so it comes back thicker rather than getting butchered and struggling.

The cuttings do not get left for you to deal with. Removal can be included in the same job, which is usually the sensible way to do it.

Common questions

When is the best time to trim hedges in Brisbane?
Most Brisbane hedges do well with a trim in early spring and again in late summer, which keeps them dense without cutting into old wood. If a hedge has got badly overgrown it can usually still be brought back — it may just take a couple of stages rather than one hard cut.
Do you take the cuttings away?
Yes, removal can be included. Most people have it done together so the job is genuinely finished and there is no pile left behind.
How high can you work?
Zac handles hedges, shrubs and small tree work that can be reached safely from the ground or a ladder. Large tree removal and anything needing climbing or a cherry picker is a job for a qualified arborist, and he will tell you straight if that is what your job actually needs.
